Brand Abbott

Actrapid 100Iu/ml Flexpen 3ml Injection is a fast-acting human insulin solution designed for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. It is formulated as a clear, colourless, and aqueous solution containing 100 international units of human insulin per milliliter. This product is intended for subcutaneous administration, typically into the abdominal wall, thigh, gluteal region, or deltoid region, with rotation of injection sites to minimise the risk of lipodystrophy.

As a short-acting insulin, Actrapid 100Iu/ml Flexpen 3ml Injection begins to lower blood sugar levels approximately 30 minutes after injection, with its effect lasting for about 7-8 hours. It is often used in conjunction with intermediate-acting or long-acting insulins to achieve comprehensive blood sugar control. In specific clinical scenarios, such as diabetic ketoacidosis or severe hyperglycemia, Actrapid can also be administered intravenously by healthcare professionals under continuous monitoring.
