Human Actrapid 40Iu 10ml Injection contains Human Insulin (40Iu), a short-acting insulin used to manage blood sugar levels in individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

• Human insulin (rDNA origin) 40 IU/mL (active ingredient).
• Excipients: zinc chloride, glycerol, metacresol, sodium hydroxide/hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment, and water for injections.

Dosage and Administration

1. Actrapid dosing is individual and determined by a physician based on patient needs.
2. Administer subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdominal wall, thigh, gluteal region, or deltoid region.
3. Rotate injection sites within the same region to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy and cutaneous amyloidosis.
4. Inject into a lifted skin fold to minimize the risk of unintended intramuscular injection.
5. Take 20-30 minutes before a meal.
6. If intravenous administration is necessary, it should only be carried out by healthcare professionals in a hospital setting.

Storage and Disposal

• Unopened vials should be stored refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C.
• Do not freeze and do not use if it has been frozen.
• Protect from light.
• After first use, vials can be stored at room temperature (below 25°C) for a maximum of 4 weeks (28 days).
• Discard after the in-use period, even if some medicine remains.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Side Effects and Risks

• The most common side effect is low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia). Symptoms include cold sweats, cool pale skin, fatigue, nervousness or tremor, anxiousness, unusual tiredness or weakness, confusion, difficulty in concentrating, drowsiness, excessive hunger, vision changes, headache, nausea, and palpitation.
• Injection site reactions may occur, including pain, redness, hives, inflammation, bruising, swelling, and itching.
• Some people may experience weight gain.
• Other reported side effects include decreased potassium levels, itching and rash, muscle pain, loss of appetite, increased thirst, and constipation.
• Rarely, severe allergic reactions may occur.
