Triglycomet Tablet contains Glibenclamide (5mg), Metformin (500mg), and Pioglitazone (15mg), a triple-combination anti-diabetic medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.

The Triglycomet Tablet contains:

• Glibenclamide IP 5 mg (active ingredient).
• Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500 mg (Sustained Release) (active ingredient).
• Pioglitazone Hydrochloride IP (equivalent to Pioglitazone) 15 mg (active ingredient).

Dosage and Administration

1. Take Triglycomet Tablet exactly as prescribed by your physician.
2. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush, chew, or break it.
3. It is recommended to take this medicine with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects and reduce the risk of low blood sugar.
4. For consistent blood sugar control, take it regularly at the same time each day.
5. Do not alter the prescribed dosage or discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Storage and Disposal

• Store Triglycomet Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 30°C, or below 30°C.
• Keep it in its original packaging, safe from direct light and moisture. Avoid storing it in the bathroom.
• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
• Do not use expired or damaged tablets.

Precautions and Safety

• Be aware of the signs of low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia), such as sweating, dizziness, headache, and shaking. Always carry a fast-acting source of glucose (e.g., sugary food or fruit juice) to manage these symptoms.
• Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Triglycomet Tablet, as it can significantly increase the risk of severe low blood sugar and a serious acid buildup in your blood (lactic acidosis).
• This medicine is not recommended if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney or liver disease, or dehydration.
• Consult your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or heart failure, as this medication may not be suitable or could worsen symptoms.
• Pioglitazone, one of the active ingredients, has been associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer in some studies. Report any symptoms like blood in urine, painful urination, or a new or persistent urge to urinate to your doctor immediately.
• Pioglitazone may also increase the risk of bone fractures, particularly in older women.
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
• Your doctor may advise regular blood tests to monitor blood sugar levels, blood cell counts, and liver and kidney function during treatment.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia), taste changes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, edema (swelling), blurred vision, bone fracture, upper respiratory tract infection, and weight gain.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe side effects such as signs of lactic acidosis (vomiting, stomach pain with muscle cramps, fatigue, difficulty breathing), abnormal liver function (yellowing of skin or eyes, jaundice), severe hypoglycemia leading to loss of consciousness or seizures, or signs of a severe allergic reaction (hives, facial swelling, difficulty breathing).
