Dengen Dengocem Type 2 Restorative GIC

The Dengen Dengocem Type 2 Restorative Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) is a Type II Glass Ionomer Cement specifically formulated for restorative dental procedures. This material is composed of aluminosilicate glass with fluoride powder and an aqueous solution of polyacrylic acid, providing chemical adhesion to tooth structure and fluoride release.

Dengocem Type 2 is indicated for a broad range of restorative applications, including permanent Class III and Class V restorations in anterior and cervical cavities, as well as small Class I restorations in non-load bearing areas. It is also suitable for primary teeth restorations, core build-ups under crowns and bridges, and as a base or liner in the sandwich technique. The cement is designed for a hand mix application.

This restorative GIC offers natural esthetics, allowing it to blend seamlessly with surrounding dentition for pleasing cosmetic results. It establishes a strong and durable bond with the tooth structure, contributing to the longevity of restorations.

Material Type and Clinical Indication: This Type II Glass Ionomer Cement is formulated from aluminosilicate glass powder and a polyacrylic acid solution, indicated for permanent Class III, Class V, and small Class I restorations, primary teeth fillings, and core build-ups.
Mixing / Handling Protocol: Designed for hand mixing, the cement requires a powder and liquid to be mixed on a pad, typically at a 2:1 powder to liquid ratio, with a total mixing time not exceeding 30 seconds.
Setting / Working Characteristics: The material provides a working time of approximately 1 minute and 45 seconds from the start of mixing and achieves a full self-cure in about 5–7 minutes.
Adhesion and Strength: Dengocem Type 2 forms a strong and durable bond with the tooth structure and exhibits an impressive compressive strength of 150 MPa (22000 psi) after 24 hours.

1. Prepare the tooth surface by cleaning and drying it adequately.


2. Mix the powder and liquid components in the recommended ratio until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.


3. Apply the mixed cement to the prepared area, ensuring complete coverage.


4. Shape and contour the restoration as needed before the material sets.

• Use in accordance with dental practice guidelines.
• Avoid contact with skin and eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
• Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
