The 3M Tegaderm IV Advanced Film Dressing, model 1680, measuring 3.8cm x 4.5cm and supplied in a Pack of 100, is engineered for advanced catheter securement and patient comfort. This dressing is specifically designed for securing IV and central line catheters, including short peripheral and midline venous catheters, Central Venous Catheters (CVCs), Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs), tunneled CVCs, implanted infusion devices, arterial catheters, and dialysis catheters. It is also appropriately sized and gentle for pediatric and neonatal patients.

Utilizing advanced film technology, this dressing features a highly breathable, transparent film that provides a waterproof, sterile barrier against external contaminants such as liquids, bacteria, and viruses. The innovative design incorporates a dual-patterned adhesive system and a force-shifting notch, which work together to optimize catheter securement, manage moisture, and facilitate gentle removal, thereby reducing the risk of accidental dislodgement.

3M Tegaderm 1685 dressing is engineered with a deep notch design to conform around catheter hubs, minimizing dislodgement risk. The frame delivery system ensures easy and accurate placement while preventing dressing curl or glove adhesion. Border stabilization reduces edge lift and enhances flexibility. Its dual-coated adhesive improves breathability and comfort, and integrated security tape strips support uniform securement, reducing dressing failures and patient skin trauma.

• Clean & dry the catheter site thoroughly, allowing prep solutions to fully evaporate.
• Place stabilizing dressing while positioning it as per patient’s comfort.
• Press the dressing at the edges applying from the center outward to fully engage all stabilization strips.
• Observing the wear of the dressing is crucial to avoid infection, requiring replacement after 7 days or sooner if signs of dampness, soiling or edge-lift are noted.

Change the dressing at least every 7 days or earlier if the edges lift, or if moisture, soiling, or irritation occurs. It is not intended for use in premature infants under 2 months of age and should not be applied to compromised or hypersensitive skin. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or internal body cavities. Ensure complete drying of antiseptics before applying to prevent skin maceration or allergic reactions.
