The Medilytic Biomedicals Koshbio Malaria Pf/Pv Rapid Card is a rapid immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) and Plasmodium vivax (Pv) antigens in human whole blood. This test effectively differentiates between Pf and Pv infections, providing a quick and accurate diagnosis of malaria within 15–20 minutes. It is intended for professional and in-vitro diagnostic use only.
The assay is based on the principle of immunochromatography, utilizing a membrane strip composed of a sample pad, conjugate pad, nitrocellulose membrane, and absorbent pad. It employs monoclonal antibodies specific to P. falciparum histidine rich protein-2 (Pf HRP-II) and P. vivax specific plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (Pv pLDH) for antigen detection.
