How to Use a Defibrillator Machine: Step-by-Step:

In an emergency requiring defibrillation, follow these steps:

• Turn on the AED and follow instructions.
• Remove all clothing from the patient's chest, ensuring no metal objects remain.
• Correctly place defib pads on the bare chest.
• Allow the AED to analyse the heart rhythm.
• Listen to AED instructions carefully.
• If prompted to give a shock, ensure everyone is clear of the patient.
• After shock delivery, resume CPR with compressions until the person responds, normal breathing returns, or paramedics take over.
• Continue to follow any further instructions from the AED, which may include additional shocks if necessary.
