Brand Philips

The Philips HeartStart FRx AED Defibrillator is an automated external defibrillator designed for the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) caused by ventricular fibrillation. It delivers electrical therapy to help restore a normal heart rhythm.

This defibrillator utilizes a Truncated Exponential Biphasic waveform, with parameters adjusted based on each patient's impedance, to provide effective therapy. For adult defibrillation, it delivers a nominal peak current of 32A, equating to 150 Joules into a 50-ohm load. When the optional Infant/Child Key is inserted, the device automatically reduces the defibrillation energy to a nominal 50 Joules into a 50-ohm load for pediatric patients.

Operating in AED mode, the Philips HeartStart FRx is intended to detect a shockable rhythm and guide the responder to deliver a shock. This device has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Premarket Approval (PMA), ensuring its compliance with stringent regulatory standards.
