What's in the Box

1 x Dental Etchants

The Septodont Septo-etch Etchant represents a pinnacle in dental surface conditioning, specifically engineered to enhance the adhesion of composite materials. This advanced etchant is meticulously formulated to optimize the bonding process, ensuring predictable and durable outcomes in restorative dentistry.

Key Features:

  1. Highly Reactive Phosphoric Acid Formula: The Septo-etch Etchant is formulated with a highly reactive phosphoric acid solution, providing efficient enamel etching. This chemical composition enhances surface irregularities, promoting optimal micromechanical retention for composite materials.

  2. Consistent Gel Consistency: The etchant features a consistent gel consistency that ensures uniform application on dental surfaces. This characteristic is critical for achieving a reliable and uniform etch, contributing to the longevity and stability of the restorative work.

  3. Precise Application Tips: Septo-etch is equipped with precise application tips that facilitate controlled and targeted dispensing. This level of precision minimizes the risk of over-etching and ensures the selective treatment of tooth surfaces, optimizing the adhesive bond.

Benefits:

  1. Enhanced Adhesion Strength: The highly reactive formula of Septo-etch creates an ideal surface for composite material bonding, resulting in enhanced adhesion strength. This is pivotal for the longevity and stability of dental restorations.

  2. Minimized Microleakage: The uniform gel consistency and precise application tips contribute to minimizing microleakage, reducing the risk of secondary caries and enhancing the overall success of restorative procedures.

  3. Facilitates Conservative Dentistry: Septodont Septo-etch supports conservative dentistry practices by promoting selective enamel etching. This approach preserves healthy tooth structure while maximizing the effectiveness of adhesive procedures.

Type 37% Phosphoric acid gel
Width5.00 cm
Length10.00 cm
CompatibilitySuitable for all total-etch bonding systems

1. Preparation

    • Clean and dry the tooth surface to remove debris and ensure optimal adhesion.

2. Application

    • Attach a fine metal syringe tip to the Septo-Etch syringe.

    • Apply a small, precise amount of etchant gel to the area to be etched.

Avoid contact with adjacent teeth and soft tissues.

3. Etching Time

    • Enamel: Leave gel in place for 15 seconds.

    • Dentin: Leave gel in place for 10 seconds.

    • Ensure uniform coverage of the treatment area.

4. Rinsing

    • Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all traces of the etchant gel.

    • Gently air-dry the surface.

Do not overdry or desiccate dentin.

5. Post-Etching

    • Verify a frosty white appearance on the enamel surface—this confirms successful etching.

    • Proceed with the bonding agent application and restorative procedure as per standard protocol.

6. After Use

    • Dispose of the used syringe tip according to clinical waste protocols.

Recap the syringe tightly to avoid contamination and prevent the gel from drying out.
