Dosage and Administration

  1. Adults & Children over 12 years: Administer one respule three times a day, typically every 6 to 8 hours. This is the maximum recommended daily dose.
  2. Method of Administration: Duolin Respules are for oral inhalation only. Administer the solution by nebulization using a standard jet nebulizer with a face mask or mouthpiece connected to an air compressor.
  3. Important Note: Do not exceed the recommended dose. If a previously effective regimen fails to provide relief, seek medical advice immediately.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store Duolin Respules below 25°C.
  • Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze the solution.
  • Keep the respules in their foil pouch at all times and use them within one month of opening the pouch.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

  • Inform your doctor about any existing heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate problems, kidney or liver diseases before using this medicine.
  • Exercise caution if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid contact of the respule solution with your eyes, as it can cause blurred vision, eye pain, or worsen narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Do not stop using this medication abruptly without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms.
  • Rinse your mouth and throat with water or brush your teeth after using the nebulizer to help prevent dry mouth and throat irritation.

 

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects include dry mouth, headache, dizziness, tremor, increased heart rate (palpitations), cough, throat irritation, nausea, and muscle cramps. These are usually mild and temporary.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience paradoxical bronchospasm (sudden worsening of breathing problems after inhalation), severe allergic reactions (rash, swelling of face/tongue/throat), or significant changes in heart rhythm.
