Zostum 500mg Injection contains Cefoperazone and Sulbactam, an antibiotic combination used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections.

Cefoperazone, a third-generation cephalosporin, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Sulbactam acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protecting Cefoperazone from degradation and enhancing its efficacy against resistant bacteria. It is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

The Zostum 500mg Injection contains:

• Sulbactam Sodium IP equivalent to Sulbactam 250 mg.
• Cefoperazone Sodium IP equivalent to Cefoperazone 250 mg.

Dosage and Administration

1. Zostum 500mg Injection is administered by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic setting.
2. It can be given intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM).
3. The dosage and frequency will be determined by the prescribing doctor based on the severity and type of infection, as well as the patient's condition.
4. The full prescribed course of treatment should be completed, even if symptoms improve, to ensure complete eradication of bacteria and prevent resistance.

Precautions and Safety
