What's in the Box

1 x Main Unit, 1 x NMT Monitoring Cable, 1 x NMT Electrode

The Xavant Stimpod Nerve Locator - NMS 410 is a precision nerve locating tool designed for use in regional anesthesia procedures. It facilitates the localization of specific neural pathways by electrical stimulation, connecting a nerve stimulator to a conducting needle through which local anesthetics can be injected. This device is engineered to increase accuracy and achieve close needle tip placements, offering technology comparable to ultrasound techniques for determining anatomical deviations before needle insertion and reducing procedure duration.

The NMS 410 features simultaneous nerve mapping and nerve location capabilities through auto-sensing technology. This technology monitors whether the mapping probe or needle touches the patient and adjusts the current range accordingly, enabling quick and precise nerve location. The nerve mapping probe supports transcutaneous nerve mapping at higher currents, up to 20mA, to assist in finding deeper peripheral nerves with effective discrimination due to its small tip surface area.

For enhanced safety and operational clarity, the Stimpod NMS 410 includes a visual and audible proximity indicator. This mechanism provides feedback when target current and pulse width ranges are reached, signaling probable nerve proximity and preventing practitioner confusion before administering a nerve block. A real-time waveform display indicates if the pulse is delivered according to settings, alerting the user to excessive impedance if the waveform is not square, which necessitates reassessment of ECG electrodes or skin condition. The device conforms to international standards including IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, and Directive 93-42-EEC, and its sale in the US is restricted to by or on the order of a physician.
