Your Advantages

Brand Fresenius Kabi

Smofkabiven Peri 1448ml Injection is an emulsion for infusion that provides essential amino acids, glucose, lipids, and electrolytes. It is used for parenteral nutrition when a patient's gastrointestinal tract cannot be used, is insufficient, or is contraindicated.

Benefits

This intravenous nutritional support system offers complete nutritional support by delivering essential macronutrients and, when prescribed, micronutrients in a single infusion. It simplifies administration by combining nutrients in one formulation, potentially reducing the need for multiple infusion lines. The lipid component helps prevent essential fatty acid deficiency and supports overall tissue repair and recovery.

Uses and Indications

  • Short bowel syndrome, where the remaining intestine cannot absorb adequate nutrients.
  • Severe malabsorption conditions, such as severe Crohn's disease or radiation enteritis.
  • Bowel obstruction, preventing the passage of food through the digestive tract.
  • Hypermetabolic states, including major burns, severe trauma, or sepsis, requiring high caloric intake.
  • Gastrointestinal fistulas, to provide nutrition while allowing the digestive tract to rest and heal.
  • Support for critically ill patients who cannot tolerate enteral (tube) feeding.
