Dosage and Administration

  1. Take Creon 25000 Capsule during or immediately after each meal or snack.
  2. Swallow the capsule whole with plenty of water. Do not crush, chew, or hold it in your mouth, as this can cause irritation and reduce effectiveness.
  3. If swallowing whole is difficult, the capsule can be opened, and the contents sprinkled onto a small amount of acidic soft food (e.g., applesauce, plain Greek yogurt, bananas) and swallowed immediately without chewing. Follow with water or juice.
  4. The exact dose and duration will be determined by your doctor based on your condition and response.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store Creon 25000 Capsule at room temperature, below 25°C (or 30°C in some climates), in a cool, dry place.
  • Keep the medicine in its original container, tightly closed, to protect from moisture.
  • Do not refrigerate.
  • Use within six months after opening the bottle.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children and pets.

Precautions and Safety

  • Do not take Creon 25000 Capsule if you are allergic to pancreatin, porcine products, or any other ingredients in the medicine.

  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of intestinal blockage, scarring or thickening of the bowel wall (fibrosing colonopathy), gout, kidney disease, or high blood uric acid.

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects include stomach pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.
  • Rarely, severe abdominal pain or allergic reactions such as skin rash, wheezing, breathlessness, or swollen lips/face may occur. Seek immediate medical attention if these develop.
  • High doses, particularly in children with cystic fibrosis, have been associated with a rare bowel disorder called fibrosing colonopathy.
  • Increased blood uric acid levels (hyperuricemia) have been reported with extremely high doses.
