Shofu Hi-Dense Xp Ecopack is a silver-reinforced glass ionomer cement (GIC) specifically formulated for restorations in posterior teeth. This material is indicated for permanent restoration of posterior deciduous teeth, non-stress bearing permanent teeth, core build-ups, and the repair of amalgam restorations.
The material's composition includes spherical silver-tin alloy particles integrated into a specially formulated glass ionomer powder, which contributes to enhanced performance and physical properties, even in humid oral environments. It demonstrates excellent adhesion to tooth structure, pins, and existing amalgam restorations.
Shofu Hi-Dense Xp Ecopack is radiopaque, ensuring clear visibility on radiographs for post-operative evaluation. It also provides excellent fluoride release and recharge capabilities, coupled with high resistance to erosion. The material is designed to be packable and condensable, offering handling characteristics similar to amalgam, but without the presence of mercury.
