Dosage and Administration

  1. For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application.
  2. Apply a small amount of ointment as a thin layer to the infected area 2-3 times daily for up to 10 days, or as directed by your doctor.
  3. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the ointment to prevent spreading the infection.
  4. The treated area may be covered with a sterile gauze dressing if advised by your doctor.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store below 25°C, in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Do not freeze the ointment.
  • Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Precautions and Safety

  • This ointment is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Do not use on large areas of damaged skin or open wounds, especially if you have moderate or severe kidney impairment, due to the potential absorption of polyethylene glycol.
  • Discontinue use and consult a doctor if severe irritation, allergic reaction, or sensitisation develops at the application site.
  • Prolonged use of antibiotics may lead to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. Do not use for more than 10 days unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If applying to the breast or nipple area while nursing, wash the area thoroughly before feeding the baby.
  • Diarrhea, including severe cases, can occur with antibiotic use. If you experience persistent or severe diarrhea, consult your doctor immediately.

 

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects at the application site include burning, stinging, itching, pain, redness, dryness, tenderness, or swelling. Nausea and increased oozing at the infection site have also been reported.
  • Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and difficulty breathing may occur. Seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms develop.
