Your Advantages

Brand Eli Lilly

Mounjaro 15Mg Kwikpen contains tirzepatide, a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes and for chronic weight management.

Benefits

Mounjaro 15Mg Kwikpen improves glycemic control by stimulating insulin release when blood sugar is high, reducing glucagon levels, and enhancing insulin sensitivity. It also aids in weight loss by slowing gastric emptying, which promotes a feeling of fullness, and by reducing appetite. This dual action can lead to significant reductions in HbA1c and body weight when used as an adjunct to diet and exercise.

Uses and Indications

  • To improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
  • For chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ≥ 30) or overweight (BMI ≥ 27) with at least one weight-related comorbidity, in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

The Mounjaro 15Mg Kwikpen contains:

  • Tirzepatide 15 mg (active ingredient).
  • Excipients: Benzyl Alcohol [E1519] (5.4 mg per 0.6 ml dose).

Precautions and Safety

  • Mounjaro 15Mg Kwikpen is contraindicated in individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2).
  • It is unknown whether tirzepatide causes thyroid C-cell tumors in humans, as observed in animal studies.
  • Pregnant women or those planning to conceive should avoid this medication due to potential risks to the unborn baby. Consult a doctor if breastfeeding.
  • Inform your doctor about all current medications, especially oral contraceptives, as Mounjaro may affect their absorption. A non-oral or barrier method of contraception is recommended for 4 weeks after initiation and after each dose escalation.
  • Monitor for symptoms of acute pancreatitis (severe, persistent abdominal pain, possibly radiating to the back), gallbladder disease, and worsening diabetic retinopathy.
  • The risk of hypoglycemia increases when Mounjaro is used with insulin or sulfonylureas; dose adjustments of these concomitant medications may be necessary.
  • Ensure adequate fluid intake to prevent dehydration, which can lead to kidney problems, especially if experiencing nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • Never share your Mounjaro KwikPen with other people.

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (indigestion), and decreased appetite. These are typically mild and tend to improve as your body adjusts to the medicine, though they may be more pronounced during dose increases.
  • Other reported common side effects include dizziness, burping, gas, bloating, heartburn or reflux, hair loss, tiredness, and injection site reactions.
  • Serious but rare side effects can include acute pancreatitis, gallbladder disease (such as gallstones or cholecystitis), and severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; breathing or swallowing difficulties; severe rash or itching; fainting or dizziness; very rapid heartbeat). Seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
