The Ivoclar Vivadent IPS Empress Direct Syringe Refill Universal Composite Resin - Dentin A2 is a light-curing nanohybrid composite designed for highly esthetic direct restorative procedures in both anterior and posterior regions. This material is suitable for a wide range of clinical applications, including Class I–V restorations, esthetic corrections, cervical restorations, adjustment of tooth position and shape, and direct veneers.

Featuring a convenient syringe delivery system, the IPS Empress Direct Syringe Refill in "Dentin A2" shade enables precise application and controlled dispensing during restorative procedures. The composite is sculptable and maintains its shape during contouring, facilitating optimal anatomical recreation.

The material offers an extended working time of up to 300 seconds, providing ample time for manipulation before light-curing. It achieves polymerization with a curing time of 15 seconds for a 2mm layer thickness when utilizing a high-power light unit (800 mW/cm2). Preparation
Clean and isolate the tooth (preferably with rubber dam).
Prepare the cavity according to standard adhesive dentistry principles.
Apply etchant, rinse, dry, and apply bonding agent as per manufacturer instructions.
Application
Dispense the composite directly from the syringe.
Apply in increments of ≤ 2 mm thickness.
Adapt and sculpt each layer using suitable instruments.
Light Curing
Cure each increment with a dental curing light (typically 10–20 seconds depending on light intensity).
Layering
Continue incremental build-up to achieve desired contour and esthetics.
Finishing & Polishing
Finish with fine burs and discs.
Polish to achieve a smooth, high-gloss surface.
