Indirab "0.5ml" Vaccine is a Purified Inactivated, Lyophilized Rabies Vaccine, prepared from the Pitman-Moore strain of Rabies Virus grown in Vero cells. It is indicated for active immunization against rabies in individuals of all ages. This vaccine is crucial for both pre-exposure prophylaxis in high-risk professionals such as veterinarians, animal care personnel, and laboratory staff, and for post-exposure treatment following contact with suspected rabid animals.

For optimal potency, Indirab "0.5ml" Vaccine vials and accompanying diluent must be stored between +2°C and +8°C. It is critical not to freeze the vaccine. Once reconstituted, the vaccine should be stored at the same temperature range and used within 6 to 8 hours.

Indirab "0.5ml" Vaccine can be administered via intramuscular (IM) or intradermal (ID) routes. For intramuscular administration, a single dose of "0.5ml" is given in the deltoid muscle for adults or the antero-lateral region of the thigh for young children under 2 years of age. Intradermal administration involves a 0.1 mL dose per site in the upper arm. Pre-exposure prophylaxis typically involves three doses on days 0, 7, and 21 or 28. For post-exposure treatment in unimmunized individuals, a schedule of five intramuscular doses on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28 is recommended.
