Truglyde sutures are made from polyglycolic acid, a material widely used across surgical specialties for soft tissue approximation. The suture provides excellent tensile strength with minimal tissue reaction and a predictable absorption rate, ensuring reliable wound support during the critical healing phase.

Truglyde sutures provide wound support for up to 28 days, which covers the critical healing period for most soft tissue repairs. The suture is completely absorbed through hydrolysis within 90 days of implantation, eliminating the need for removal in many applications.

This suture features a 1/2 circle round body heavy needle with a 30mm length, designed for optimal tissue penetration and handling in general surgical applications. The needle geometry supports smooth knot tie-down and excellent knot security.

Truglyde sutures are sterilized using ethylene oxide, a standard method that ensures sterility for single-use application. The suture maintains its sterility with a 5-year shelf life when stored under appropriate conditions.

Truglyde sutures are coated with calcium stearate and polyglactin 910, which provides smooth knot tie-down and improved handling characteristics. This coating reduces friction during knot formation while maintaining the suture's braided structure and tensile strength.
