The GeneBio Typhoid IgG/IgM-WB Rapid Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against Salmonella typhi in human whole blood (WB) specimens. This rapid test supports the diagnosis of typhoid fever, enabling healthcare professionals to differentiate between recent and past infections. It is intended for in vitro diagnostic use.

Operating as a lateral flow immunoassay, the test cassette incorporates a conjugate pad with recombinant Salmonella Flagellin antigen conjugated with colloidal gold. The nitrocellulose membrane strip features a test line (M) pre-coated with monoclonal anti-human IgM for detecting IgM anti-S. typhi, and another test line (G) pre-coated with reagents for detecting IgG anti-S. typhi. This mechanism allows for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of both antibody types.

This diagnostic kit holds regulatory recognition, being approved for clinical practice and community screening by ICMR and CDSCO in India. It is also recognized by the FDA in the USA as a point-of-care diagnostic, often used in conjunction with confirmatory tests, and conforms to EU safety standards for use in CE-certified regions.
