This combo test facilitates both early and later-stage detection of dengue infection, with the NS1 antigen identifying acute infection in the initial days and IgM and IgG antibodies indicating recent and past exposure, respectively. The kit is intended for use by healthcare professionals to aid in the diagnosis of dengue virus infection.
Operating as a lateral flow immunoassay, the test utilizes anti-dengue NS1 monoclonal antibodies, mouse anti-human IgM and IgG antibodies immobilized on a nitrocellulose membrane, alongside dengue recombinant envelope antigens conjugated with colloid gold. This mechanism allows for the detection of NS1 antigen from day 1 to day 9 after the onset of clinical signs, while IgM antibodies typically become detectable 3 to 10 days post-infection, and IgG antibodies appear around day 14 in primary infections or rise within 1-2 days in secondary infections. Results are typically available within 15 to 20 minutes.
