Brand Natco

Bracanat 150mg Tablet contains Olaparib, an anticancer medicine primarily used in the treatment of various cancers, including ovarian and breast cancer.

Benefits

Olaparib functions as a PARP inhibitor, targeting and blocking an enzyme critical for DNA repair within cancer cells. This mechanism prevents cancer cells from repairing their damaged DNA, leading to their eventual death and slowing tumor growth, particularly in cells with BRCA mutations. It offers a targeted therapeutic approach, aiming to selectively impact cancer cells while potentially reducing severe effects on healthy cells compared to conventional chemotherapy.

Uses and Indications

  • Maintenance therapy for ovarian cancer, especially in patients with BRCA gene mutations who have responded to platinum-based chemotherapy.
  • Treatment for BRCA-mutated ovarian cancer.
  • Management of breast cancer with BRCA mutations, including HER2-negative early or metastatic breast cancer.
  • Treatment option for advanced pancreatic cancer with BRCA mutations.
  • Therapy for specific prostate cancer types with BRCA or HRR gene mutations.
