Volk Merlin Surgical System

The Volk Merlin Surgical System is a premium non-contact wide-angle viewing system engineered for high-resolution, panoramic visualization of the retina during vitreoretinal surgeries. This system facilitates precise intraoperative assessment and intervention across both the central and peripheral retina, supporting complex procedures such as macular work, membrane peeling, and retinal detachment surgeries. Its utility extends to challenging cases, including those involving pediatric or neonatal patients with small eyes or retinopathy of prematurity.

The system's lenses are constructed from proprietary PermaView glass, designed to endure repeated steam sterilization cycles without material degradation, thereby maintaining consistent optical clarity over time. These lenses integrate Volk's proprietary double aspheric lens technology and anti-reflective coatings, which collectively provide superior sharpness and depth of field while effectively minimizing glares and reflections. The modular configuration includes a suspension arm, rotating lens mount, and a selection of interchangeable Volk surgical lenses, complemented by a Condensing Lens Assembly (CLA) and Lens Positioning Unit (LPU).

The Volk Merlin Surgical System is engineered for seamless integration with all major surgical microscopes, offering adaptability across various surgical setups. It is also compatible with Volk's ROLS® (Infinity) reinverter, enhancing workflow efficiency during surgical procedures. All sterilizable components, including the LPU and lenses, are compatible with steam sterilization, with comprehensive cleaning and sterilization instructions detailed in the system's operator's manual.
