Pyrax Zinc Oxide Temporary Restorative - 100gm

Pyrax Zinc Oxide Temporary Restorative is formulated as a dental-grade, extra-fine micronized zinc oxide powder. When mixed with eugenol, it forms a Zinc Oxide Eugenol (ZOE) cement, which serves as a sedative dental dressing or lining under non-composite resin restorations. This material is indicated for temporary dressing applications and for the preparation of temporary cement.

The mixing protocol involves dispensing measured quantities of the powder and eugenol onto a cool glass slab. The powder is incorporated into the liquid and mixed in a circular motion using a stiff, stainless-steel spatula, with small increments added until a uniform, putty-like consistency is achieved for temporary restorations. The recommended powder to liquid ratio is 4:1 to 6:1 by weight.

The resulting ZOE cement is biocompatible with hard and soft tissues and provides adequate compressive strength for temporary restorations.
