The synthetic non-absorbable surgical sutures CARDIONYL® are
composed of a polyamide monofilament, with or without PLEDGET of
different sizes.
CARDIONYL® sutures are blue dyed (FD&C blue n°2 CFR 741102).
CARDIONYL® sutures comply with the requirements of the United
States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopoeia (EP)
for non-absorbable surgical sutures.
CARDIONYL® sutures elicit a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in
tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by
fibrous connective tissue.
As with any polyamide sutures, though non absorbable, gradual loss of
tensile strength can occur over a long time in vivo.
The synthetic non-absorbable surgical sutures CARDIONYL® are
available in various lengths, diameters (USP/EP) and quantities with
surgical needles.
