The Marcela HIV 1/2 Rapid Card is a point-of-care diagnostic tool engineered for the rapid and accurate detection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. This single-use, visually interpreted immunoassay is designed for the qualitative detection of antibodies to both HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human whole blood, serum, or plasma samples.

Utilizing advanced recombinant antigen-based lateral flow immunoassay technology, the Marcela HIV 1/2 Rapid Card incorporates colloidal gold conjugated recombinant antigens corresponding to HIV-1 (gp120 + gp41) and HIV-2 (gp-36) immobilized on a nitrocellulose membrane strip. This design allows for the capture of specific HIV antibodies present in the patient sample, facilitating early detection and prompt clinical intervention.
