Ivoclar Vivadent Te-Econom Flow Refills are a light-curing, radiopaque hybrid composite material designed for a broad spectrum of direct restorative dental procedures. This flowable composite resin, available in shade A3, is formulated to provide clinicians with a reliable solution for various dental applications.

The material is indicated for restorative therapy in mini-cavities of all types, small posterior restorations (Classes I and II), Class III, IV, and V restorations, and preventive resin restorations. Its flowable consistency allows for easy adaptation and precise placement within the dental cavity, making it suitable for cavity lining and minimally invasive procedures. Te-Econom Flow is also appropriate for pediatric dentistry, including restorations of deciduous teeth.

This composite resin is light-curing, hardening when exposed to blue light in the range of 400-500 nm, which offers dental professionals precise control over the setting process. It exhibits a working time of approximately 90 seconds under ambient light and cures in 20 seconds with a standard LED unit.

Preparation:
Ensure a clean and well-lit workspace.
Select the appropriate shade for the restoration.
Isolation:
Use tools like a rubber dam or OptraDam Plus to isolate the treatment area. This prevents contamination and provides a dry field.
Cavity Preparation:
Prepare the cavity following the requirements of the adhesive technique.
Cleaning and Drying:
Clean the cavity with a water spray.
Air dry the cavity to ensure it's free from moisture.
Optional Pulp Protection:
Apply a pulp protector (e.g., calcium hydroxide) if needed.
Follow with a pressure-resistant cement if required.
Matrix and Wedge Placement:
Position a matrix (e.g., OptraMatrix) for proper tooth contour.
Add an interdental wedge if necessary.
Etching and Bonding:
Apply an etchant (e.g., Eco-Etch) to enamel and dentin as indicated.
Rinse and dry the surfaces, but avoid overdrying the dentin.
Apply a dental bonding agent (e.g., Te-Econom Bond) to enamel and dentin. Ensure complete coverage.
Evaporate any remaining solvent and light cure the adhesive as per recommendations.
Composite Placement:
Apply the flowable composite (e.g., Te-Econom Flow) in thin layers of a maximum of 2mm.
Light cure each layer individually, following the recommended curing times.
Finishing and Polishing:
After composite placement, finish the restoration using suitable instruments or fine diamonds.
Check the occlusion.
Polish the restoration with silicone polishers for a smooth and aesthetic finish.
Final Assessment:
Inspect the completed restoration for any adjustments or refinements.
