ICPA Hexigel Intraoral Gel

ICPA Hexigel Intraoral Gel is an antiseptic oral gel formulated for the management of various oral health conditions. It is indicated for the treatment of gingivitis, oral candidiasis, aphthous and other oral ulcers, and common oral injuries, including those resulting from orthodontic appliances and oral surgery procedures. The gel also supports the maintenance of overall oral hygiene and aids in the prevention of alveolar osteitis (dry socket) following tooth extractions.

The gel's composition includes Chlorhexidine gluconate solution I.P. equivalent to chlorhexidine gluconate 1.0% w/w, delivered in a pleasantly flavoured base. Chlorhexidine gluconate acts as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as exhibiting antiviral and antifungal properties. Its mode of action involves increasing the permeability of microbial cell membranes, leading to cell lysis and a reduction in microbial load, which is crucial for supporting early wound healing in the oral cavity.
