Femilon Tablet 21's

Femilon Tablet contains Ethinyl Estradiol (0.02mg) and Desogestrel (0.15mg), a combination of hormones used primarily for contraception and to manage irregular periods.

Benefits

Femilon Tablet offers effective contraception by preventing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and making the uterine lining unsuitable for implantation. It also helps regulate irregular menstrual cycles and can reduce menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). Additionally, it may help reduce menstrual cramps, acne, and potentially lower the risk of certain cancers.

The Femilon Tablet 21's contains:

• Desogestrel 0.15 mg (active ingredient).
• Ethinyl Estradiol 0.02 mg (active ingredient).

Dosage and Administration

1. Take one tablet daily at the same time each day.
2. Begin taking the tablet on the first day of your menstrual cycle.
3. For a 21-day pack, take one active tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day pill-free interval. Start a new pack on the 8th day.
4. The tablet can be taken with or without food.
5. If vomiting occurs within 4 hours of taking a dose, take another tablet.
6. If a dose is missed by more than 12 hours, use a condom during intercourse for the next 2 days.

Storage and Disposal

• Store Femilon Tablet below 25°C in its original packaging.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

• Inform your doctor if you smoke and are over 35 years of age, or have a history of heart attack, cancer (uterus, cervix, or vagina), uterine bleeding, or liver/kidney problems.
• Avoid smoking while taking oral contraceptives due to an increased risk of blood clots and other complications.
• Femilon Tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Use with caution if you have diabetes mellitus, a history of breast cancer, seizures, or high lipid levels.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe headaches, blurred vision, chest pain, unexplained swelling in your limbs, or difficulty breathing.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include nausea, headache, breast pain, weight gain or loss, acne, abdominal pain, cramps, and depression.
• You may experience spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods, or missed periods.
• Serious but rare side effects include blood clots, indicated by swelling and pain in limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, or changes in vision.
• Rarely, skin rash or allergic reactions may occur.
