Brand Erba

The Erba SGPT Kit is a diagnostic reagent designed for the quantitative in-vitro determination of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT/GPT) activity in human serum and plasma. Elevated levels of ALT/GPT are primarily indicative of liver disease, including conditions such as cirrhosis, viral or toxic hepatitis, and obstructive jaundice. This kit provides a reliable method for assessing liver function in clinical laboratory settings.

This reagent kit operates on a kinetic UV test principle, adhering to the recommendations of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) without pyridoxal phosphate activation. The assay measures the rate of decrease in absorbance at 340 nm, which is directly proportional to the SGPT concentration in the sample. The reagents are supplied in a ready-to-use liquid format, simplifying laboratory workflow.
