Dosage and Administration

Emtig 50mg Injection is administered intravenously (into a vein) by a doctor or nurse. The typical adult dosage is an initial dose of 100 mg, followed by 50 mg every 12 hours. Infusions are usually given over 30 to 60 minutes. The duration of treatment, typically 5 to 14 days, will be determined by your doctor based on the infection's type and severity.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store unopened vials in a refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.
  • After reconstitution, the solution can be stored at room temperature (not exceeding 25°C) for up to 24 hours (including infusion time).
  • Alternatively, if diluted with 0.9% Sodium Chloride or 5% Dextrose, it can be refrigerated (2°C to 8°C) for up to 48 hours.
  • Always inspect the solution for particulate matter or discoloration before use.

Precautions and Safety

  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have liver problems or allergies to antibiotics before starting treatment.
