What's in the Box

Pack of 60 GP Points

Dentsply ISO Color-Coded 6% Gutta Percha Points, size "25", are designed for meticulous endodontic obturation, providing dental professionals with a precise solution for sealing root canals. These gutta-percha points adhere to ISO standards and feature a "6%" taper, ensuring optimal adaptation within the root canal system. They are intended to fill the shaped, cleaned, and irrigated root canal space following endodontic therapy, contributing to the restoration of tooth integrity and masticatory function.

Crafted from radio-opaque synthetic gutta-percha rubber, these points are essential for achieving a complete and fluid-tight seal. Gutta-percha is recognized for its biocompatibility, an essential characteristic for materials used in endodontic procedures, interacting with living tissues without causing adverse effects. The "ISO Color-Coded" system facilitates accurate size identification during procedures, enhancing workflow efficiency.

It is important to note that these gutta-percha points are supplied as non-sterile devices and must be disinfected prior to use by qualified dental professionals in a clinical or hospital environment.

Key Features :

Facilitates endodontic obturation by filling the shaped, cleaned, and irrigated root canal space
Composed of radio-opaque synthetic gutta-percha rubber, offering essential biocompatibility for endodontic applications
Features "ISO Color-Coded" design and a "6%" taper for precise size identification and optimal canal adaptation
Classified as a Class IIa medical device under EU Regulation 2017/745
MaterialSynthetic Gutta-Percha Rubber
Primary Use / IndicationEndodontic obturation to fill the shaped, cleaned, and irrigated root canal space
SterilityNon-sterile, requires disinfection before use

Prepare the root canal:
Clean and shape the root canal using standard endodontic techniques.
Remove the smear layer if desired, as gutta-percha can penetrate dentinal tubules better without it.
Soften the gutta-percha:
Use a heat source to warm the gutta-percha. Electrically heated spreaders or specially designed heat carriers are recommended for this purpose.
Ensure that the instruments are only gently warmed to avoid melting the gutta-percha.
Lateral compaction:
Select a gutta-percha cone of appropriate size and taper.
Fit the cone into the canal carefully, ensuring a snug fit.
Use the sharp tip of the heat carrier instrument to laterally compact the softened gutta-percha against the canal walls.
Apply gentle pressure and work the instrument back and forth to achieve compaction.
Repeat this process with additional gutta-percha cones as necessary, gradually building up the root filling.
Vertical compaction (optional):
If desired, use the blunt plugger tip of the heat carrier instrument for limited vertical compaction of the softened gutta-percha in the apical portion of the canal.
Apply a continuous wave of heat to soften and down pack a gutta-percha cone, achieving a well-compacted obturation in the apical area.
Additional increments of gutta-percha can be added if needed to fill the remaining portion of the canal.
Complete the obturation:
Once the desired level of gutta-percha compaction is achieved, remove any excess gutta-percha.
Clean the canal of any solvents or debris.
Apply a root canal sealer of your choice.
Fill the canal completely with a sealer using a suitable technique (e.g., cold lateral compaction, warm vertical compaction, or other preferred method).
Ensure proper adaptation of the sealer and gutta-percha to the canal walls.
