What's in the Box

1 x 60Points Gutta Percha Points

Dentsply ISO Color-Coded 4% Gutta Percha Points exemplify precision in endodontic obturation, providing dental professionals with a meticulous solution for sealing root canals. Crafted to adhere to ISO standards, these sterile gutta-percha points feature a 4% taper, ensuring a secure fit and promoting successful obturation procedures.

Key Features:

  1. ISO Color Coding for Accurate Sizing:
The gutta-percha points follow ISO color-coded standards, simplifying the identification of sizes during endodontic procedures. This visual coding ensures accurate selection, contributing to a seamless and precise obturation process.

  2. 4% Taper for Optimal Adaptation:
Engineered with a precise 4% taper, these gutta-percha points offer optimal adaptation to root canal walls. The taper facilitates a snug fit, reducing the likelihood of voids and ensuring a reliable seal for effective obturation.

  3. Sterile Packaging for Infection Control:
Each gutta-percha point is individually sterilized and securely packaged, adhering to stringent infection control standards. This ensures a consistently sterile tool for dental practitioners, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination.

Benefits:

  1. Accurate Size Selection with ISO Coding:
The ISO color-coded system simplifies size selection, allowing dental professionals to quickly and precisely identify the appropriate gutta-percha point for each specific case. This feature enhances workflow efficiency and accuracy.

  2. Optimal Adaptation for Reliable Sealing:
The 4% taper design ensures optimal adaptation, promoting a reliable seal within the root canal. This critical factor minimizes the risk of leakage and enhances the long-term success of endodontic treatments.

  3. Consistent Sterility for Infection Prevention:
The sterile packaging maintains consistent sterility, aligning with infection control protocols. Dentsply Gutta Percha Points provide a trustworthy barrier against cross-contamination, ensuring a clean and hygienic clinical environment.

Prepare the root canal:
Clean and shape the root canal using standard endodontic techniques.
Remove the smear layer if desired, as gutta-percha can penetrate dentinal tubules better without it.
Soften the gutta-percha:
Use a heat source to warm the gutta-percha. Electrically heated spreaders or specially designed heat carriers are recommended for this purpose.
Ensure that the instruments are only gently warmed to avoid melting the gutta-percha.
Lateral compaction:
Select a gutta-percha cone of appropriate size and taper.
Fit the cone into the canal carefully, ensuring a snug fit.
Use the sharp tip of the heat carrier instrument to laterally compact the softened gutta-percha against the canal walls.
Apply gentle pressure and work the instrument back and forth to achieve compaction.
Repeat this process with additional gutta-percha cones as necessary, gradually building up the root filling.
Vertical compaction (optional):
If desired, use the blunt plugger tip of the heat carrier instrument for limited vertical compaction of the softened gutta-percha in the apical portion of the canal.
Apply a continuous wave of heat to soften and down pack a gutta-percha cone, achieving a well-compacted obturation in the apical area.
Additional increments of gutta-percha can be added if needed to fill the remaining portion of the canal.
Complete the obturation:
Once the desired level of gutta-percha compaction is achieved, remove any excess gutta-percha.
Clean the canal of any solvents or debris.
Apply a root canal sealer of your choice.
Fill the canal completely with a sealer using a suitable technique (e.g., cold lateral compaction, warm vertical compaction, or other preferred method).
Ensure proper adaptation of the sealer and gutta-percha to the canal walls.
