Cervavac Vaccine 0.5ml injection is a quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII) to protect against infections caused by specific HPV types. This vaccine contains L1 virus-like particles (VLPs) from HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18, which are responsible for a majority of cervical cancers and genital warts. It is indicated for prophylactic use in individuals aged 9 through 26 years to prevent cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers caused by HPV types 16 and 18, as well as genital warts caused by HPV types 6 and 11.
The vaccine is administered as a 0.5ml intramuscular injection, typically into the deltoid region of the upper arm or the higher anterolateral area of the thigh. It is supplied as a ready-to-use suspension, requiring no reconstitution. Cervavac must be stored refrigerated at +2°C to +8°C and should not be frozen to maintain its efficacy.

Overview and Mechanism of Cervavac Vaccine
Cervavac is India’s first indigenously developed quadrivalent HPV vaccine by the Serum Institute of India, offering protection against HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18. It works by using virus-like particles (VLPs) that mimic the virus’s outer shell, triggering the immune system to produce antibodies without causing infection. These antibodies block HPV from entering cells, thereby preventing cervical cancer and HPV-related conditions such as genital warts.
