What's in the Box

1 x 3ml Liquid

The 3M Single Bond Universal Bonding Agent, supplied in a 3ml volume, is a versatile, one-component dental adhesive designed for a broad spectrum of restorative procedures. This methacrylate-based adhesive is formulated to establish strong adhesion between dental restorative materials and tooth structure, including enamel and dentin. It is indicated for bonding light-cured composite or compomer for all classes of direct restorations, root surface desensitization, and sealing of dentin prior to amalgam restorations. Additionally, it functions as a protective varnish for glass ionomer restorative materials, and for the repair of composite or compomer restorations and bonding sealants.

For indirect applications, the 3M Single Bond Universal Bonding Agent is suitable for bonding veneers with RelyX™ Veneer Cement, and serves as an adhesive/primer for chemical adhesion when bonding zirconia, alumina, metal, or glass ceramic restorations. It also facilitates the intraoral repair of existing indirect restorations and can bond self- or dual-cure core build-up materials and resin cements when used with the 3M™ Single Bond Universal DCA Dual Cure Activator. The adhesive can be employed across various etching techniques, including total-etch, self-etch, and selective-etch.

The application protocol for this bonding agent is a one-step, one-coat process, contributing to a simplified workflow. The procedure involves applying the adhesive to the prepared tooth, rubbing it in for 20 seconds, followed by a gentle air-dry for approximately 5 seconds to evaporate the solvent, and then light-curing for 10 seconds, resulting in a total application time of 35 seconds. It is moisture tolerant, ensuring consistent performance on both wet and dry enamel and dentin. The product offers consistent high bond strength to both moist and dry etched dentin, as well as to all indirect surfaces without the need for a separate primer. It is designed to minimize post-operative sensitivity. The 3M Single Bond Universal Bonding Agent does not require refrigeration and can be stored at room temperature for up to two years.

Preparation Begin by preparing the tooth surface according to standard clinical protocols, ensuring it is clean and free from debris. Isolation: Isolate the treatment area to control moisture and achieve optimal bonding conditions. Etching (Optional): For Total-Etch Technique: Apply a suitable etchant to the enamel and dentin, then rinse and dry thoroughly. For Selective-Etch Technique: Apply the etchant to the enamel only, avoiding dentin. Rinse and dry. Application: Shake the adhesive bottle to ensure proper mixing. Apply a thin, even coat of 3M™ ESPE Adper Single Bond Universal Adhesive to the prepared tooth surface. Agitate it gently for 20 seconds to facilitate penetration. Light Cure: Use a suitable curing light to polymerize the adhesive for the recommended time. Restoration Placement: Proceed with placing the dental restoration according to standard clinical procedures. Post-Operative Care: Check for occlusion and make any necessary adjustments.
