What Is a Blood Tubing Set?
A blood tubing set, also called an AV bloodline or dialysis tubing set, is the sterile, disposable tubing that carries a patient's blood between the vascular access and the dialyzer during hemodialysis. It forms the extracorporeal blood circuit, the path blood takes outside the body while it is being cleaned. These sets are intended for single use and are replaced for every dialysis session.
