The Indenter (4) comes in contact with the foot (5) whose stiffness is to be measured. • Need and Demand : • Diabetic foot ulcer is worldwide phenomenon and it is cause for more than 85% of all lower leg amputations. • India (65 million) stands 2nd behind China (98 million) in number of diabetes patients. • Early diagnosis of diabetic foot ulcer can significantly improve life expectancy of diabetic patients. • Market Access Information : • The global market for diabetes therapeutics and diagnostics(including devices for diagnosis and monitoring, as well as therapeutic agents) is expected to climb from $110 billion in 2011 to nearly $157 billion by 2017, according to BCC Research.
