Brand Transasia
The Transasia Erba Albumin kit, supplied as 5 x 50ml, is a diagnostic reagent designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of albumin levels in human serum and plasma samples. This kit utilizes the Bromocresol Green (BCG) dye-binding method, where the absorbance of the resulting blue-green complex, measured between 540-630 nm, is directly proportional to the albumin concentration. Albumin, a major plasma protein synthesized in the liver, is crucial for regulating the distribution of extracellular fluid and transporting various hormones, vitamins, and trace metals. Its measurement is vital for assessing conditions such as dehydration, excessive protein loss from organs like the kidney or intestine, decreased synthesis due to hepatic disease or malabsorption, and increased catabolism in conditions like fever or diabetes mellitus.
This reagent kit is compatible with a range of automated and semi-automated clinical chemistry analyzers, including the Erba XL series, Chemtouch, Chem 7, Erba Chem 5 Plus V2, Erba Chem 5X, EM Destiny 180, EM 200, EM 360, XL 640, and XL 1000 systems. The unopened reagents are stable until the expiry date when stored at 2-8 °C. After opening, the reagent remains stable until its expiry date if stored at 2-8 °C under appropriate conditions, carefully closed, and protected from light and contamination. On-board stability on refrigerated analyzers is at least 30 days, provided contamination is avoided.
