SafeEndo EugeSeal Root Canal Sealant is an endodontic sealer designed to provide a reliable and effective solution for sealing root canals. It is indicated for sealing tooth root canals in the treatment of pulpitis and all forms of apical periodontitis. This sealer is recommended for permanent root canal filling, often in combination with gutta-percha points.
This material belongs to the Zinc-Oxide-Eugenol (ZOE) based class of materials. Its formulation includes zinc oxide, calcium phosphate, zirconium dioxide, thymol iodide, dexamethasone, hydrocortisone acetate, and a plasticizer in the powder, with eugenol modified by additives in the liquid. The modified eugenol ensures non-shrinkage after hardening and exhibits low solubility in distilled water at 37°C.
SafeEndo EugeSeal exhibits dimensional stability, maintaining its sealing integrity within the root canal system. It is radiopaque, providing enhanced visibility on radiographs for assessing the quality of root canal fillings. The mixed paste maintains plasticity on a mixing pad for 5-6 hours and hardens in the oral cavity within 24-48 hours at 37°C.
