Neubauer Chamber Uses in Hematology and Cell Culture Labs

The Neubauer chamber is widely used in hematology laboratories for manual counting of blood cells such as RBCs, WBCs, and platelets. In cell culture and research labs, it is used to estimate cell concentration and viability, helping ensure accurate cell seeding, growth monitoring, and experimental consistency.

Grid Layout and Depth of Improved Neubauer Counting Chamber

The Improved Neubauer counting chamber has a precisely engraved grid divided into nine large squares, each measuring 1 mm × 1 mm. The central square is further subdivided into smaller squares to allow accurate counting of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and other cells. The chamber has a standardized depth of 0.1 mm between the counting grid and the cover glass, ensuring consistent volume measurement and reliable cell concentration calculations.
