Recombigen SGPT (Serum Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase), also known as ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase), is an enzyme primarily found in the liver. The UV Kinetic method based on the Optimized IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry) procedure is used to measure SGPT/ALT activity in serum or plasma. This method involves the enzyme-catalyzed conversion of alanine and 伪-ketoglutarate, with the resulting change in absorbance being proportional to the enzyme's activity. The IFCC method ensures accurate and consistent results.

ParameterDetails
Reagent Type2 Reagents (4:1 ratio)
Reagent 1 (R1)Contains substrate and coenzymes essential for the SGPT/ALT reaction
Reagent 2 (R2)Contains buffers and other components that optimize the enzymatic reaction
Pack Size50 tests (depending on sample volume and testing system)
MethodUV Kinetic (Optimized IFCC)
Reaction Principle- SGPT catalyzes the transfer of an amino group from alanine to α-ketoglutarate, forming pyruvate and glutamate.
Reaction Principle- Pyruvate reacts with NADH in a coupled system, reducing NADH to NAD⁺.
Reaction Principle- The decrease in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to SGPT/ALT activity.
Applications- Measurement of SGPT (ALT) activity in serum or plasma
Applications- Used in liver function testing and diagnosing liver diseases (e.g., hepatitis, cirrhosis, NAFLD)
Applications- Often used with SGOT (AST) for comprehensive liver health evaluation
StorageStore at 2–8°C Keep tightly sealed and protected from light
Shelf LifeTypically 12–24 months (refer to product label for specific expiration date)
Precautions- Mix Reagents 1 and 2 in 4:1 ratio before use
Precautions- Use clean, non-hemolyzed serum/plasma samples
Precautions- Calibrate spectrophotometer at 340 nm
Precautions- Follow kinetic measurement protocol precisely
