The Recombigen RF test uses the Latex Slide Agglutination method to detect Rheumatoid Factor (RF) in serum or plasma. Rheumatoid Factor is an antibody found in the blood of many patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as in certain other autoimmune diseases. In this test, latex beads coated with immunoglobulin G (IgG) react with RF antibodies present in the sample. If RF is detected, it causes the latex beads to agglutinate (clump), resulting in a visible reaction. This simple and rapid test aids in diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions associated with RF presence.
