The Recombigen CRP (C-reactive protein) test uses the Latex Slide Agglutination method to qualitatively detect C-reactive protein levels in serum or plasma samples. CRP is an acute-phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation, infection, or tissue injury. Elevated CRP levels can indicate various inflammatory conditions, such as infections, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. This test employs latex beads coated with anti-CRP antibodies. When the serum sample is mixed with the latex reagent, the presence of CRP in the sample will cause the latex beads to agglutinate (clump), producing a visible reaction. This agglutination indicates a positive result for CRP.
