Recombigen Calcium is a reagent system designed for the measurement of calcium concentrations in serum, plasma, or other biological samples. The assay uses the O-cpc (O-Cresolphthalein Complexone) method, in which calcium ions in the sample react with O-cpc to form a colored complex. The intensity of the resulting color is directly proportional to the calcium concentration and can be quantified using a spectrophotometer.
