Pyrax Calcipaste Cavity Liner is a premixed, oil-based paste formulated with calcium hydroxide, iodoform, and barium sulphate, designed for various dental applications. It serves as a cavity liner, facilitating pulp protection and supporting dentin bridge formation. This paste is indicated for direct and indirect pulp capping, pulpotomy procedures, and apexification.

The composition of Pyrax Calcipaste includes iodoform and barium sulphate, which enhance its antibacterial properties and radiopacity, making it suitable for treating infected root canals, abscesses, and periapical lesions. Its non-hardening nature ensures that solubilized calcium hydroxide remains active within the root canal for an extended period, contributing to long-term dental health.

Pyrax Calcipaste is also utilized as a temporary and intermediate intra-canal dressing and for lining cavities to prevent contact with acidic restorative materials. It is designed to protect the pulp from thermal and chemical shock and dehydration, stimulating the formation of sclerotic and secondary dentin.
