  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques during handling, as the emulsion can support rapid microbial growth.
  • Discard any unused product within 6 to 12 hours after opening or preparation.

Precautions and Safety

  • Propofol should only be administered by individuals trained in general anesthesia and not involved in the surgical or diagnostic procedure.
  • Patients may experience drowsiness and reduced mental alertness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or sign legal documents until fully awake and cleared by a doctor.
  • Avoid alcohol, marijuana, or other central nervous system depressants while under the effects of this medication.

Side Effects and Risks
