Pan 40mg Tablet contains Pantoprazole 40mg, a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce stomach acid production and treat acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine.

• Pantoprazole 40mg (as Pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate) as the active ingredient.
• Inactive ingredients typically include mannitol, sodium carbonate anhydrous, crospovidone, povidone, calcium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, yellow iron oxide, propylene glycol, methacrylic acid copolymer, and triethyl citrate.

Dosage and Administration

1. Take one Pan 40mg Tablet daily, approximately one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.
2. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew, crush, or split the tablet, as this may affect its delayed-release properties.
3. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Continue taking the medicine as prescribed, even if symptoms improve quickly.

Storage and Disposal

• Store Pan 40mg Tablet in its original packaging at room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Brief excursions between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F) are permitted.
• Protect from heat, moisture, and direct light. Do not freeze.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

• Inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medicines for HIV (such as rilpivirine or atazanavir), have a history of allergic reactions to similar medicines, or suffer from bone loss (osteoporosis).
• Long-term use of proton pump inhibitors like Pan 40mg Tablet (especially for over one year or at higher doses) may increase the risk of bone fractures, particularly in the hip, wrist, or spine. Discuss preventive measures for bone loss, such as calcium and vitamin D supplementation, with your doctor.
• Prolonged use may also lead to reduced absorption of vitamin B12.
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
• Heartburn and chest pain can sometimes mimic symptoms of a heart attack. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain that spreads to your jaw or shoulder, accompanied by anxiety or light-headedness.
• Pan 40mg Tablet is not intended for immediate relief of heartburn; it may take 1 to 4 days for the medicine to fully work.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These symptoms are generally mild, but if they bother you or do not go away, consult your doctor.
• Serious adverse reactions, particularly with prolonged use, can include acute tubulointerstitial nephritis, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, severe skin reactions, cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus, hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels), and fundic gland polyps.
