Uses and Indications

• Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and acid reflux.

• Management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition causing excessive stomach acid.
• Treatment of erosive esophagitis, an inflammation of the esophagus caused by acid.
• Part of combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection.
• Prevention of ulcers induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Dosage and Administration

1. Take Omeford 20mg Capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
2. It is usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning, at least one hour before a meal.
3. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew, crush, or break it.
4. Continue the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

Storage and Disposal

• Store Omeford 20mg Capsule below 30°C.
• Keep in its original packaging to protect from moisture and light.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Precautions and Safety

• Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or any known allergies to omeprazole or similar medications.
• Long-term or high-dose use may increase the risk of bone fractures, low vitamin B12 or magnesium levels, or fundic gland polyps in the stomach. Your doctor may monitor these levels.
• Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it can worsen acidity and related conditions.
• Consult your doctor if symptoms persist, recur, or worsen, or if new symptoms occur.
• Omeprazole may mask symptoms of other serious conditions; report any unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, or blood in stools to your doctor.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include headache, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and gas. These are usually mild and temporary.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe allergic reactions (e.g., sudden wheezing, swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat, rash with blisters), severe or watery diarrhea, unusual tiredness or weakness, or signs of kidney problems (e.g., changes in urine output, swelling).
• Rare but serious skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome) have been reported; discontinue use and seek medical help if you notice reddening of the skin with blisters or peeling.
