Nimophrin 100mg Tablet contains Nimesulide 100mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for pain relief and to reduce inflammation.

Benefits

Nimesulide 100mg Tablet provides rapid relief from mild to moderate acute pain and inflammation. It is effective in managing conditions such as menstrual cramps, painful osteoarthritis, and dental pain.

Uses and Indications

• Acute pain.
• Symptomatic treatment of painful osteoarthritis.
• Primary dysmenorrhoea (painful periods or menstrual cramps).
• Dental pain.

The Nimophrin 100mg Tablet contains:

• Nimesulide IP 100 mg (active ingredient).

Dosage and Administration

1. Adults and children over 12 years old: Take one tablet (100 mg) orally twice daily.
2. Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water, preferably after meals to minimise stomach upset. Do not chew, crush, or break it.
3. Duration: The maximum daily dose for adults is 200 mg. The duration of treatment should not exceed 15 days.

Storage and Disposal

• Store below 25°C, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

• Use the minimum effective dose for the shortest possible duration to reduce the risk of undesirable effects.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of 15 days, as prolonged use may increase the risk of severe liver damage and other adverse effects.
• Nimesulide 100mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.
• Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment, as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding and drowsiness.
• This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
• Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney problems, heart failure, gastrointestinal disorders, or bleeding disorders before taking this medicine.
• Discontinue treatment and consult a doctor immediately if you experience symptoms compatible with hepatic injury (e.g., anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, dark urine) or develop abnormal liver function tests.
• Do not take Nimesulide 100mg Tablet with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or paracetamol unless advised by your doctor, due to increased risk of side effects.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and skin rash.
• Serious but rare side effects can include gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding, severe liver damage (hepatitis, jaundice, liver failure), kidney impairment, fluid retention, and an increased risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack or stroke.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or severe skin rashes.
